Mo I Rana
An industrial town usually passed by the tourist. We called into the museum, it's great!!
This is the work of local artist Lillian Erlandsen who works with fabric and metal, her work is a joy to see. Downstairs is the story on geology and mining of Mo and the founding fathers. This is not a place usually visited by tourists therefore no translations which felt good in a way.
The extra shows another piece of weaving in metal, the frame made by her husband, the other extra is an example of tradition weaving to show where her inspiration comes from. The gallery lady was excellent and has given us time to explain, we are the only visitors which is a shame. She has recently returned from Ireland visiting galleries but the main purpose for going was to see Bruce Springstein. Love it.
