Lytham
What an utterly gorgeous day it was today. The sun has been cracking the flags, anyone would think it was summer. There was only one thing to do....head to the sea. Jude had the day off also, so we decided to go to Lytham St Anne's. Off we set and I presumed she knew the way and so I didn't pay any attention to the route. I have to admit I do rely on satnav when I go places, Jude likes maps. I like maps....I just can't follow them, I have no sense of direction. Anyway when we made a wrong turn she handed the map to me....well that is a waste of time and it makes me carsick. I used the satnav on my phone...and we eventually got there.
We didn't plan ahead either....wrong clothes, no flip flops, no swimming costume, no towel....sigh. The sea was right in and we lay down in the sand and soaked up the salty air, the soporific sounds of the sea as it tickled sand before us and the glorious sunshine.
When I was growing up and we went on our holidays to Anglesey I used to hate it when my mum would sunbathe in her bra on the beach. But today I had no qualms about doing that same thing myself. I'm turning into my mother!!!!
We sunbathed, we paddled, we walked round the shops, we went on the pier and we had an ice cream....what a delightful day.
I had to have a shower when I got home as I could feel sand everywhere. Now I just need to find the aftersun......
