Breakfast

It took very little to encourage Katie up and out this morning. For this morning we went for breakfast with B. And we arrived to find breakfast was to be taken in the garden! It was beautiful, most civilised and wonderful. There were gifts for Katie (and one for mama!) and stories were shared by both Katie and B. We are all pleased to be reunited! Katie said on the way to school "well that was fantastic!"

After school we came home for some tea, a spot of practise and a little play for Katie before heading back to Barbaras for Katie's lesson. This one was simply a "show everything Katie's worked on this past month" time, a little concert for B. She was tired and the tired came out as a touch manic tonight, when combined also with the overexcited. It threw her for a few minutes to switch on to B's piano after so long only playing ours. We played one of our duets and I also realised how very different it felt to our own piano. B thinks it's possible that part of the problem with our piano is that it's not coping so well with the huge amount of use its getting. She's suggested perhaps trying a digital piano she has while we save to buy a semi decent piano. Katie adamant she wants a "real" piano, and she's right, it feels and sounds very different but would save the money down the drain of maintaining failing a piano....

It's taken some convincing to get her to settle to sleep tonight., she's on a school trip tomorrow, she's bouncing from today and excited for Thursday's lesson....
