Snorkelling

Snorkelling

Katie had a school trip today. I had hoped to save her blip for one of the photos that they took on it but they haven't shared them so I'm posting this blip instead!

The school trip was to a Victorian museum in a nearby town. She pretty much enjoyed most of it apart from the school classroom as the museum "Victorian" teacher told her and her friend off for writing with their left hands. She said she "was brave and didn't cry, but was shaking" (mama-bear instinct left my pretty riled at this. They're 6 years old.... Authentic but slightly mis-pitched perhaps....). She told me about learning how to do the washing and baking and she drew the Victorian sewing machine. They'd been told they could take spending money so the whole year group came back with the sort of tat we would never let them choose if we were with them!

When I picked her up, she was quite out of sorts and said her tummy really hurt. I think it was a mixture of the coach ride and being over heated from wearing coat and cardi in the heat. On the way home she just wanted to lie on the sofa and not do a great deal but after some food and a few minutes calm rest she decided she felt much better and was very up for going swimming...

... Which was definitely a highlight of the day. Today she tried snorkelling for the first time! It wasn't the most successful endeavour as the mask was far too big for her and the snorkel kept flipping away from her when she surfaced but she took it all in excellent humour and had a great time!
