Sunrise.....

When I peeked between the curtains at 5.15am stars were twinkling through the dark, however by 7am cloud was hovering over our small town but there was lightness towards the east, I decided to try for a sunrise.

The beach was deserted for quite some time, birds glided by while the waves of the Pacific Ocean rolled into shore. It was lighter along the horizon but cloud hung over the seascape thick and grey. Another photographer arrived in a thick woollen jersey, overalls and gumboots, clearly he was going into the surf with his tripod and camera. I said 'Good Morning', he muttered 'Morning' but there was no time for chit chat he was on a mission. So I left him to the waves and kept out of his way.

The sun started to rise, changing the horizon with rich vibrant shades mingling with the clouds. It had been a while since I had seen the complete sun rise without any cloud surrounding the fiery ball, it looked so perfect and round (extras). Pebbles rumbled as they gave way to a sweeping incoming tide, while sunlight caught the tips of the waves, a cold breeze whipped up and I was thankful for my fingerless gloves and warm jacket and pleased I wasn't in the waves.

It was another magical moment, every sunrise so different from the last......a good day followed, blue sky, mostly calm, temperature hovering round 14C

Happy Saturday everyone :)
