It's a good jam making day
As well as being an important day for football.
It's still raining and we still have "yellow warnings" here in the West Midlands. It's mainly grey and dark but from time to time, a bit of light manages to get through.
It's a bit like that with football. Mainly grey and dark (reports coming from our shame in Lille), but from time to time there is a bit of light - real fans who have managed to find places out of the spotlight where they can enjoy football talk, local wines, food and conversation. In other words, we can still be responsible Europeans, like the Welsh, the Irish and most of the other European countries.
So, time will tell whether or not we can have a civilised partnership, or if we wave our flags of St George in a flurry of crazy and fantasy nationalism.
I'm clearly writing this before kick-off.... I still passionately (please note that Gareth) want England to win, but we desperately need to regain a bit of credibility.
