The only....

photo I took today where Katie didn't look like a drunk! She had a wonderful hour this morning putting both hands together for the entirety of the piece that she's studying carefully in this photo, so it is a happy memory not just a "well that will have to do!"

She does singing on a Friday lunchtime. Apparently today her and two friends were the only Y1 in the group, the others have decided they don't like it "But I do so I am still going, mama". It has been really reassuring to me the last couple of weeks - there have been several instances where she had opportunity to bow to peer pressure but hasn't. She's stood up for what she knew was right/what she wanted/what she knew Mama would want of her as appropriate. I hope that continues.

They had a great time at orchestra today - she said that while they were rehearsing Star Wars the teacher stopped them and they had to do it the rhythm of it copying the teacher; elbow slaps, hand claps, head pats and such followed with laughter and good triplet practise all in one!

I met her from school with the baby, to both of their delights. And when we got up (at last, they were late out and we had to buy some bits from the shop) Granny and Grandad were here for a play and some tea before heading for an evening out. They are having a sleep over!! We were giving them a lift out and I had planned to bath the baby when we got back. She wasn't having any of it. She knows our routine and stood after her tea saying "Vest. Vest. Vest" tugging to take it off, then went and took herself to the bathroom!
