Roses for Midsummer
Yesterday's rain was so persistent that we lost our satellite signal. This has only happened once before, in a January snowstorm. Cue for much fiddling with cables by me. Nothing happened.
By this morning it was still raining persistently and by jiggling again I managed to get pictures, but no sound. By this afternoon the sun had come out and the air was drier. I fiddled, got sound AND pictures, though only in mono! Half an hour later, I was rewarded with the full set: three out of three! Next time this happens, I shall leave the setup severely alone until the weather changes.
More importantly for me, in rehab I managed to engage a disengaged person by offering a hand massage. He went on to massage another person's hands, and ask if we could do foot massage! This was the first swearing-free session, too. Might not sound like much, but to me it's massive.
So here we have more roses, from our garden. Apart from teaching and TV repairs, I've not been a busy bee. I ordered some theatre tickets for The Dresser in Cheltenham in Sept ( Frank S, are you listening? Matinee on Thurs 29th) and chose some summer clothes in an online sale. Summer's half way through already. On a positive thought, this will cheer my sister TMLHEREANDTHERE in NZ, as for her this day will mark midwinter, and the gradual return of the light.
