Crabby crab

Today the rest of the crew arrived, with Maple, the dog, instead of the moose! (2nd extra)
Thank goodness we still have one young enough to delight in turning over rocks and squealing when she can pick up the little crabs.  This is an intertidal green shore crab , comes in a variety of colors (yellow or grey , usually with white claws) and has tiny hairs on its legs, the bodies are less than an inch across... )   Sometimes the rocks are put back, sometimes not, but no matter, these little guys will scurry to find another.   They eat algae.  Those are pieces of white shell beach sticking to it.   Maple loves exploring the beach too.. 

The extra is the Dads and kids off for the afternoon ice cream run to the marina.   The Dad doesn't get to drive anymore...!
