Diary of an Edinburgher

Enough!!

JR's first ever Monday morning as a retired person. And what does she do? She gets up and goes in to school to 'tidy her room'.

In anticipation of an afternoon of tennis - and by extension an afternoon on the sofa - I decided on a morning of activity. I started to saw some more of my long bits of wood which are clogging up my shed. I did one piece, requiring energetic (for me) sawing to render into four short pieces. I was so puggled, I abandoned that task and tidied the shed instead.

I then washed and scrubbed the path - those bloomin' wee birds do make quite a mess. By this time I was even more puggled, face like a beetroot (the colour, not literally) and could just about make a coffee, gather up all my items and slump on the sofa. Archie plopped his head on my lap as soon as I sat down, so that any forgotten items would have to remain unavailable till JR returned. I cannot possible disturb Arch.

A wet afternoon here, and sometimes wet at Wimbledon, but plenty of terrific tennis on display.

JR eventually came home and took Archie out for a very wet walk. Archie needed drying off. They both needed drying off, actually. Archie puts up with the hair drier for a while, and when he gets totally fed up he tries to cover the drier with his paw. He's not silly.

This time next week I will have a new knee!
