California dreaming

While Jenn and Pete finished up there workweek I explored Santa Barbara by bike.

It's a beautiful town. Palm trees, agave, lemons, rosemary - gardens of every sort enliven the white stucco Spanish style buildings. Hills above town look over the deep blue of the Pacific beyond. And all roads down lead to the beach - full of all variety of people.

Some of the highlights of the day were eating real Mexican style tacos at a local taqueria. Watching kiteboarders and small yachts taxi in the winds offshore. Reading a book in the sand with my shirt off. And people watching along the beachfront.

So....California. Like another country entirely.
