Wednesday: Goodbye, Little Car

We left K's brother's in the Lake District this morning and drove down to Liverpool where we are staying with N. In a few days we will part ways with our car - we are both really sad to see it go. It's been a fantastic car and has also provided us with endless trips and memories - numerous trips all round Croatia, neighbouring countries and, most memorably a few years ago, our Balkan road trip (which still ranks as one of our best holidays).

Don't worry that you can see the number plate. It's a Croatian export plate and was put on the car just a few days ago. In a couple of days it will be substituted for a GB plate when it is reregistered here. One or two people have inquisitively asked us what type of plate this is.

It does feel a bit like saying goodbye to a metal pet.
