Glacier Travel in the Alps
Day 4, Aosta Hut - Berthol Hut
In the early morning, had to be put on and taken off several times in near darkness as we gained the Col de la Division in mixed rock and snow slopes. From there the view was breathtaking and we could see several groups roped up and travelling in many different directions. This group had just come down from the Tête Blanche (3724m) - see extra - with its spectacular views of the Matterhorn and the Dent d'Herens. Our guide suggested a head stand was necessary on this summit as it was called the "Tête", head, in French!
