State of the Nation Address

Snuggled up with this cutipie while watching today's first SONA under the Duterte presidency. SONA content (lowering of tax, anti-drug campaign, rail project - woohoo on this one, review of mining and logging permits, unilateral ceasefire with the CPP/NPA/NDF, longer driver's license validity, longer passport validity, increase of treatment and rehabilitation facilities, relocation program for informal settlers, free wifi connectivity in select public areas, intensify war against human traffickers and illegal recruiters, and many others) were mostly applauded by critics/analysts. At some point, his speech was cringy because he can very bold with his claims specially during adlibs. And yes in front of the entire Batasang Pambansa hall, he claimed that none of the people seated inside supported him during his presidency. MY JAW DROPPED AT THIS POINT. LOL. I couldnt remember if people laughed at this point or was their an awkward silence (?) Several times he was bored with his script and inserted stories which made the audience laugh, giggle and/or applaud. It became a two-hour speech which was originally intended for only 30-45 minutes. I have to be honest, this is the first time that I listened to an entire SONA speech by a president of the Philippines. He definitely has got that charisma of promise. Smile smile smile :)
