Time to leave
Flying visit to sunny Leeds on the train to meet up with my son Tom and daughter Lucy.
'Twas an action-packed day! Coffee with Lu while we waited for Tom to arrive (no trains between Wakefield and Leeds today, so he had to catch a bus), then an Uber taxi to Aire Place Studios to see the Paired Apart exhibition and Lu's studio. From there we walked along the canal to the Kirkstall Bridge Inn for lunch - very pleasant sitting outside in the sun. Another Uber taxi (apparently, it was free Uber day - no idea why - so no-one paid for these trips) to the shared house where Lu lives, for a cup of tea and guided tour - neither Tom nor I had been there since she moved in.
Next a short walk through leafy Meanwood to Headingley, for the bus in to the centre of Leeds, where we pottered around the shops before heading to the station. The whole area has been re-developed (again!) since I was last in Leeds, and there are now lots of 'eateries' by the canal behind the station. We chose an Italian place for nibbles (mouthwateringly delicious) and wine before, sadly, it was time for me to catch the train back to Northumberland.
Thanks Tom and Lucy! A lovely day - I shall be back!
