US Holiday Day 17

On the way back to LA
This is where we spent last night. It is in cattle country to the west of Yosemite. The whole area is in the grip of a terrible drought and the fields are full of yellowing grass as far as the eye can see. Not surprisingly there is a great fear of fire and all 4th July firework displays have been called off.
The lady who runs the B&B was great, she was in her mid 80's and full of life and spiky humour. Her husband of many years will be celebrating his 90th birthday in a few weeks. She was brought up in a very strict religious home that she rebelled against it by marrying a divorced rodeo rider. Quite a rebellion. The breakfast she served was the best we had all holiday, bacon, eggs, toast, cake, pastries and far more. Even better than the food was her joining us to eat it and sharing her antidotes. A lovely lady who had lived a great life.
We drove from here back to LA and stayed in the same hotel we left a coupe of weeks previously. This was very central and we walked to the main LA street party celebrating 4th July. Bands and fireworks (safe in the city) and hotdogs and things. An interesting experience. One of the extra photos is of an audience member waiting for the fireworks to happen. The other is of American trucks in various colours. This is because I like the American trucks
