Classic

Remember it?  The lovable Morris Minor first unveiled at a Motor Show at London’s Earls Court 68 years ago, and still held in great affection by anyone lucky enough to own one now.
I spotted this one in the car park at my local supermarket today, looking as resplendent as ever.
More than 1.3 million of them were made in the 24 year production span up until 1972.
Today it a true classic, and very much a collectors’ car, but it was heartwarming to see one still apparently in everyday use.
The Morris Minor Owners’ Club this year celebrates its 40th anniversary and is thriving.
But if you fancy the classic shape to put some nostalgia back into motoring, be prepared to dig deep. I’ve seen them commanding prices of £5,000 or more.

But then, an aficionado will say it’s worth every penny.
