It's been a day of hunting for a piece of antique hardware, something very specific that doesn't exist any more.  We've been to every specialty antique and salvage hardware place in Portland that we know of, many hilarious conversations and stories later, the answer was basically:  If you find one will you buy me one too!  Ha!  Hippo Hardware said we'd have to do some creative engineering and Old Portland Hardware essentially said the same thing and we talked about whether there was a foundry where I could get it made... a true last resort.  Everywhere else didn't know what we were talking about - pah!  

Another very hot day, 94ºF/34ºC.  A quick stop at Blue Kangaroo for some cold beverages.
