Deal or no Deal

I think this was Deal or it could be Walmer as both seem to run into each other. It was a stunning shingle beach which dropped steeply into the sea. We had a great walk along the beach looking at the beach huts and a range of fishing boats lined up on the beach. A few people were swimming and one seemed to be getting no where at all just moving their arms and legs but remaining stationary.
We spent the morning exploring the historic town of Sandwich , one of the best preserved Medieval towns in England. It was jammed back with interesting buildings with colourful doorways and gardens. We enjoyed traditional fish and chips in a little restaurant by the River Stour.
We wet to Dover and had a short walk on the White cliffs. I sat on a bench watching the butterflies and seeing all the activity in the Port at Dover while Mike walked a bit further, It was getting too near the edge for me!
We finished the day at Stodmarsh a National Nature Reserve with rare reed beds.We were thrilled to get good sightings of two Marsh Harris flying right in front of the hide. A man popped his head round the door and asked if we had seen four cattle as he had lost four ! We did see ''evidence' of where they had been when we walked further  round the reserve. I did brave the toilets on the way out too as bees were nesting there and you could see them going in and out.
