I'm not the Queen of the Castle!

Bad planning by me I'm ashamed to say. I didn't do any proper investigation as to the BEST way to get to Culzean Castle. I read my instructions wrong and instead of taking the 60 bus from Ayr which would have taken me with only a mile to walk, I took the train to Maybole. From there, I thought four and a half miles is OK as the weather is fine. I stress at this point I am a good walker.

Someone was having a laugh when they put those distances up! The path disappeared after a mile and from then on it was two hours walking along a horse shit strewn road having to jump into the bushes every other minute when a car came hurtling over the hill towards me! I was a wreck by the time I reached the end of the drive where a guy mugged me for £15.50! I assured him I didn't want to buy the castle. He had no sense of humour and just gave me a withering look.

By the time I got to the castle itself, I was faint with the hunger and went for a miserable bit of quiche and limp lettuce. There was sod all else left at that time. By the time I'd eaten it and drunk my tea, I'd missed the 4pm last viewing. BOLLOCKS!!!

I just took this pretty coastal view picture before trudging back up the road to the bus stop this time where I waited 40 minutes for the next bus. My phone signal was non existent out there too. Dearie me! I will go again, but not right now.

As for the track I have done it before but I can think of nothing more appropriate for how I felt with my achy legs!
