Swans

Caught the bus to Moffat today to meet up with an old friend from Peebles. I arrived early so have visited the old churchyard and Station Park.

The cemetery has several interesting memorials, notably to the driver and guard of a mail coach who died in a snowstorm in 1831, trying to get over the Devil's Beef Tub, and also to the inventor of tarmac (J L Macadam).

The park brings back many happy memories. We always used to enjoy riding on these swan-shaped pedalo boats. Eldest Son fell in the boating lake once on a church outing to Moffat. Happy days....
