West Wittering

We drove to West Wittering beach this morning - it took two hours to get there, the traffic was worse than yesterday! But it was well worth it when we arrived - West Wittering has a huge sandy beach with sand dunes and lots of colourful beach huts, and despite the large amount of people, there was ample parking.

We found a spec on the beach and then went into the sea for a swim, the water temperature was 29 degrees, so it was quite pleasant and very clear water - we could even see fish!

The water was very shallow for quite a long way, and then suddenly dropped and it was very deep. I swam over to a sand bar and the view looking back to the beach was great with all the beach huts.

It's been about 27 degrees but with the breeze from the sea, it felt cooler and we've both caught a bit of sun!

We've arrived at our hotel in Portsmouth which is very close to the Spinnaker Tower at Gunwharf Quay, and we're going to have a look at the shopping outlet and then head out for something to eat. Tomorrow we'll go up the Spinnaker Tower.

Hope you all have a good weekend too!
