Brighton Marina
We went out quite early this morning and went to the surf shop to look at wet suits. The guy was really helpful and I explained about my charity swim, and the problems I'd had with the borrowed wet suit. He explained about the different styles and the thickness of the neoprene, and I spotted one that looked perfect, with no sleeves. He said that it was a man's 'short john' wet suit and most women didn't like them as because water can seep in round the neck and under the arms, but suggested I try it anyway.
It was actually a good fit and my arms are free, as are my knees as the legs finish above the knees. I tried a couple of other 'shorties' but they all had sleeves, and I knew I'd have the same problem, so decided to buy the sleeveless one. The guy said that although it may let some water in, it will keep me a lot warmer than swimming without it, and it's very lightweight, lets just hope I can actually swim in it! I'm going to go and try it out in the sea tomorrow morning.
We went to Lidl to do a food shop and then went to the marina and had lunch at Cafe Rouge. Alan's still not feeling very well, and didn't have much energy so we just had a stroll around the marina and along the breakwater. It was really warm and the sea was quite calm, so it was very relaxing watching the boats. This shot is a panorama taken with my iPhone, but it's a nice view looking back towards the marina.
There were lots of Cormorants sat in the sunshine, and I've added one to my extras which was my alternate blip choice.
The weather's been fantastic and is set to remain over the bank holiday weekend. I hope you have a good one!
