Walking The Ridge
Despite the rain yesterday and last night its turned out to be more like a summers day. It was Mrs BB first day off and she was up at 7am to swim her 1.5 miles and brought me a cup of coffee to wake me up at 9am when she arrived home.
Later in the morning we set off to walk the ridge that divides Cardiff from Caerphilly. The views on either side of the ridge are amazing. The extra shows Mrs BB sat taking looking towards The Bristol Channel (you can see Flat Holm and Steep Holm Islands) also giving a view over Cardiff Bay.
The main blip picture shows part of the ridge with Mrs BB approaching a high point. After refreshments in The Travellers Rest Inn (a thatched roof building on the boundary that divides Caerphilly from Cardiff areas) we walked through Castle Morgraig, a 12th century ruin behind the pub. It's a hell of a state now and can hardly be seen as it's so overgrown.
We're off to a local pub tonight with friends. Nice to enjoy some fine weather.
