The Party's Over
Well well, it's almost all over bar the shouting- only the Festival Fireworks tomorrow night.
I'm sure this year's extravaganza has been a huge success judging from the footfall and the 300 + venues in action, a great proportion of which seemed to be at our front door.
For two weeks there will a huge dismantling of hoardings and temporary buildings and a return to something resembling normality before the students appear in their own droves to take over our area again.
It was our choice to downsize to the centre of the city and so while our back door opens on to green parkland, our main entrance is in the thick of things with never a dull moment on the tourist and student activity. Just occasionally I yearn for a more tranquil setting before I remember the benefits of having every amenity on our doorstep.
These blipped bottles were neatly placed on top of a bin which the seagulls hadn't raided- very messy scavengers, the seagulls.
