The Fat Lady is About to Sing

The children are back in school, the tourists have gone their merry way, the Festival is over and what happens? The good Burghers of Edinburgh get sunshine and warmth as if in compensation for three weeks of city chaos.

With the sky a comforting blue, His Lordship and I strode out unhindered by any jostling mass of dithering visitors to reach Princes Street Gardens and saunter through them watching a snaking queue of school children on a lower path made their way to the seating in front of the Ross Bandstand to hear a concert by their contemporaries.
With a feast of blips to chose from today, this one of the thistles has my seal of approval.
(One of these days I will forget about Blipfoto and be able to walk alongside HL and not 15 yards behind and running to catch up with him.)

Tonight the gardens will be host to ticket holders for the annual firework concert. We could see the fireworks already in place around the castle and on the rock.
It remains to be seen whether HL or I make the effort to get out and see the display. The trouble about living on the south side of the city is that the fireworks are set of on the north side of the castle and much of the action is lost to view from here.
