Autumn

Today is officially the start of autumn. I know some people rather use the date of the autumn equinox instead of 1 September, but it seems the radio and newspapers regard today as the official date. I love September in the UK, it is always the best month when the weather is calm and settled and we usually get warm sunny days, like today. What a beautiful day for the start of autumn.

I spent most of the morning at my desk attending to admin and other boring things, and so I only managed to get out with Murdoch after lunch, when it was sunny and bright. This is Black Pond looking gorgeous in the sunshine.

Gavin was lucky enough to go to Flushing Meadows last night after work to see some of the US Open (He is in NY for work). It said it could not be more different from the hallowed turf of Wimbledon -  it was noisy with loud music playing, a bit frenetic with families and children talking during the match, people getting up during matches to go get food....quite different from the quiet and restrained audience at Wimbledon. He went after work and the Nadal match only finished at 12.45am!
