Saying goodbye

Our gorgeous HeadGirl is going to ballet school on Monday. We had a party tonight. The girls will miss her a lot, she's a big part of the whole school.

A busy day preceded the party. A busy and exciting day. It started with Katie's first class at her new gymnastics club. She was so pleased to be going. Her oldest buddy is an elite gymnast in training and her mama has highly recommended it. Katie's landed up with the same coach, who is fabulous. We will have a mad dash to ballet each week but it will be worth it. No ballet this week but we did a test run of the route.

We parked in the city centre and had a great afternoon. We did some of a trail of city wide artworks. We went to piano store about our new forever piano that we are looking at. We bumped into friends and had a quick drink.

We also went to the city-wide arts festival that's on all weekend. It was pouring with rain. In the course of the afternoon, we played in several booths made from upended row boats with guitars in them. One of them had a ukele too. We saw live music and dance. We saw art installations - including a push bike pulling a bath tub, complete with mother and child playing in it. Katie had her portrait sketched by a street artist. We spent a happy time in the university science marquee. She learnt about genetics, about studying cancer cells, about molecular reactions.... She had a great time!!
