Gang Bang Butterfly

Even though it was murderously hot and humid today I headed out to 'Waters Edge' for a walk. (sis was meeting a pal of coffee, no walking involved for her after I tried to kill her on Sunday!) 
I took a few shots of birds including some nice goldfinch youngsters but nothing very exciting. I hadn't done 10,000 steps so I head back to my favourite haunt 'Far Ings' and took a walk around the ponds. No birds to speak of but lots of butterflies and dragonflies. I took some lovely shots of a tortoiseshell and a speckled wood which you can see here but thought the bonking cabbage whites were more noteworthy. Lepidopterist porn on Blip :-)
And... 12,000+ steps today - woohoo. Wish i could bank them for another day!
