Day Fourteen - Huanchaco and the Night Bus
This morning we had a bit of a lie in before getting up and heading to the Breakfast Cafe again for brunch. Again, the food was great, however I was feeling quite unwell (perhaps due to taking malaria tablets on an empty stomach!).
We wandered further down along the seafront and it was so sunny and buzzy I wondered why we had been in such a hurry to leave this place!! We objected to paying 50c to walk down the pier so instead had a little look around the markets and I bought a small keyring in the shape of a Caballitos de Totora, a boat made from reed and used by fisherman in Peru.
We headed back to the hostel to grab our towels and had a couple of hours lying on the beach which was very nice! The sand wasn't exactly yellow and soft but it was sand none the less!
We headed back to our private hostel and finalised a few plans for the next few days. We then had to pack up all of our stuff ready for our 18 hour bus trip this evening!
We went to this place called Surfer Burger for dinner, which again was really nice! We both had huge burgers and a cheeky drink to send us off the sleep for the bus. Back at the hostel we desperately tried to stay awake by watching Family Guy repeats on Netflix, until we left at around 10:45pm.
We arrived into Trujillo bus station around 11:15pm more than ready to fall asleep on our VIP 180 degree reclining bus seats! Perfect!
