Well done Thomas
The boys slept well but I was too hyper to get to sleep till 1 am and woke at 5.30, so I didn't cope well with the boys squabbling and annoying each other when the got up.
We thought we'd take them to the woods to play but James kept running off to the road, in the other direction, and screaming when we tried to get him up the garden. So Mr C manfully took him on and Thomas and I headed up the path. It occurred to me that we should just try heading further on for a walk. (Following a dinosaur trail, and stopping to discuss why the bracken had gone from green to yellow and other autumnal topics), on the way. Before we knew it we had climbed all the way up to the moor - the blip shows where we stopped to look back at the village below, and Simonside beyond. He still has his jumper on as it was only 9 am, and cool. It's 25 degrees now - I've been relaxing by reading the Guardian Review in the garden over a late lunch, but have had to come in to cool off. Our south facing terrace is sheltered so is a real sun trap.
After we got back from our walk, we all packed the car and drove them home. Thomas was sick all over himself in the car before we got there. He isn't often sick, so I hope he's not getting a bug. His mum is a bit worried. We had to drive home with the windows open and have tried the disinfectant which is also pongy, as the car seat belt got it too.
Later we'll pack the camper van as we are hoping to get away tomorrow for a couple of nights. I have to be back on Tuesday for my long-awaited steroid injection, and then to babysit Ella and Nathaniel.
I hope you are all enjoying this wonderful summer.
