Room with a view

Today's the day ......................... to build a house

The place we have been staying in has a wonderful location overlooking the bay - and this is the view from our room.

The house was built back in 1891 by the famous Birmingham gun maker William Wellington Greener. Apparently he and his wife Emma were on a touring holiday in Wales when one of the wheels of their carriage broke. William left Emma at the roadside while he went back down the road to the small town of Barmouth to seek help.

When he returned, he found her quite captivated by the wonderful view of the bay. She suggested that it would be the perfect place to build a house - and in due course that's exactly what happened ..................
