Walk on the wild side
This morning we settled down for another shot at our attempt to paint the Lairig Ghru, which I blipped the other day, and then got ready for what we thought would be a short walk. We started off at Glenmore Lodge and walked about a mile to a loch with very steeply screed slopes and there was obviously something in the scree or surrounding land but the water was a wonderful deep green. I must look it up when i get home. We enjoyed our picnic here while the dogs swam and then decided that we wanted to walk further, so we set off on the path across the hills towards Braemar! It was wonderful- we walked for about 7 miles in total and only met a handful of other walkers. This blip shows you exactly how vast and empty the landscape was, you could see for miles and although the sun was shining the slight breeze kept the insects at bay. Apart from miles and miles of heather there were occasional pines and a few birches where a stream came down through a valley. We felt very privileged to be able to enjoy such a magnificent wilderness. I truly believe the dogs feel they have landed in doggy heaven here and are going to very dissatisfied with my normal walks at home!
I have tried to add correct locations for the blips so far.
Yesterday the wi-Fi here was lost for 24 hours but I have posted a backblip if you are interested.
