Day 7...Our Lady of Victory

We woke up on Saturday morning in the N.Y. turnpike service plaza with 606 miles to go to get home. But, what could I take a picture of? A row of semi-trucks? Me filling the gas tank? A toll collector taking our money? Ahhhhhh...I forgot about the minor basilica in Lackawanna, N.Y.

According to my research, there are 82 minor basilicas in the United States, and we have seen a few. But, this is the most ornate one I've ever seen.

The outside is immense, and the inside is very dark...making it hard to take pictures.

I'm going to study the list of churches, and start to visit a few more.

Trip facts: We ended up driving 2,775 miles, spent 1 night in a motel, and had 1 meal in a restaurant (had to have some Maine seafood.) Needless to say...besides gasoline and toll roads...we didn't spend much money.

Pulled into my driveway at 5:45, tired and beat...but it was a nice week spent with my Dad.
