Typical!
I was awake early and after the rain of the night it was a gloriously sunny day with mist wending it's way along the river. I was up and out in a flash - well long exposure anyway! It was glorious, but instead of the mist you have this little robin! You may have to go large to really see it! I couldn't chose what to blip, so figured i'd blip what I probably wouldn't be able to again - there will always be the viaduct and mist along the river!
Later in the morning Vegan Jo and her friend came for a coffee. Jo had bought a CD the previous night and wanted to give her friend a copy. It was an album their fans had asked for and they describe it as "The Orchestra's 'ballads' album hosts 14 of the most lachrymose and bitter-sweet melodies ever including Schindler's List, Mahler's Adagietto, a Concerto for Domra." Apparently it was their best selling album, which amused them as they couldn't imagine why anyone would want a whole album of sad ballads! Jo wondered if Friend would like a copy - mmmm, would she really like to listen to a whole load of sad songs - I'm thinking not!
As her friend coordinates nursing care for patients with cancer talk inevitably turned to Friend. It was quite horrific to hear how her final days might be and it was upsetting. Friend is reading The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, and as someone gave her another copy and I had expressed my interest in reading it, she gave one to me. I have been waiting for a quiet time to start it, and with friend away for a few days had been looking forward to doing so. This conversation did not put me in the right frame of mind to do so but reinforced my need to do it!
