Chinese Quilt

It's not long since I blipped the Terracotta Warrior we bought on a trip to China in the early 1990's. We were in Xian market afterwards, a bit of an adventure as we had left behind the official guide. Our own guide, Miss Liu, travelled with us and we picked up local guides wherever we went. They were quite strict, herding us about along party lines. Miss Liu was lovely, became a penfriend and we visited her again 2 years later. We are still in touch.

Anyhoo, I successfully haggled and bought this children's quilt in the market. China in the early 90's was very different from today, hardly anyone spoke English, and nothing was Westernised. Our negotiating took place by putting the proposed figures into a calculator until we got smiles. There were literally dozens of stalls selling quilts, hard to choose. I liked the animals. Came across the quilt during our interminable clearing, but it's definitely a keeper. Two further panels can be seen on my Blipfolio.
