Ellenabeich

Ellenabeich, a village whose origins are in the quarry trade, still has its miners’ cottages and waste heaps of slate. It’s also pretty and popular with tourists, who can take a small ferry across to Easedale Island where more quarries are still visible, often flooded. These are the Slate Islands. These cottages, under the rock and beside another quarry, are rather larger than some in the village, and look across to Easedale.

I got rather ahead of myself, thinking Hobb’s filter challenge was today, so I duly worked on a few pics and decided I liked this fairy tale aspect given by the Alien Map filter. When I realised my error, I couldn’t bear to go back to a plain old street and featureless grey skies, so here you are…..
