Glorious Day
Wow, a stunning day so we went to Strathfarrar to see if the colours of the Autumn were starting to show. The leaves were just beginning to change and the red berries glowed in the sunlight. We had several enjoyable walks and it was the perfect temperature with no need for a coat or waterproofs. There was not a breathe of wind and we sat and had our lunch watching a little wren among a log pile.
The views were stunning and I particularly loved all the old Scots pine. I was stung by a bee though , it seemed to take a liking to my top and I did nt notice until it flew away leaving a mark so do nt think it stung me properly so hope it survived to tell the tale.
We had a delicious lunch at the Cnoc Hotel , wonderful icecream for pud.
I also bought a book called the Isolation Shepherd about a man and his family who owned a croft in the Glen.
On the way home we managed to see the last race in the Avoch Skiff Regatta.
The day ended in beautiful sunset.
