Ailsa Craig

I love sunrises and since being in Scotland I have not seen one due to wall to wall cloud cover. Consequentially I was overjoyed that the weather forecast was correct and we were treated to a really colourful sunrise over the old harbour this morning.
Looking in the westerly direction down Loch Ryan the clouds and the sea were a vibrant red colour and appearing at the mouth of the Loch is the granite island known as Ailsa Craig. One of the most distintive features of the Ayshire coast Ailsa is the source of the best Scottish curling stones.
