Life with The Pinks

Rain, trains and the many cheeky faces of Master P

Today it has rained. Rained and Rained. Lots. But we are British and we are on holiday. So off we went to South Devon Railway. We went on a steam train from Buckfastleigh to Totnes, a train that made Miss pink full of excitement and glee, she loves a train it seems. Master Pink kept us amused with his funny faces throughout the journey. Some are pictured here. It was one of those days that I took hundreds of photos, but I have chosen these three as Master Pink's character shines through.

At Totnes we had lunch in the garden cafe, and then got back on the train for the return to Buckfastleigh. There we went to the south Devon Railway museum. There was a fabulous train layout there with brilliant detail, from people reading newspapers on the beach in deckchairs to the trains and tunnels and stations. Miss Pink adored it, and had to be pulled away from it half an hour later, so we could visit the Otters and Butterflies.

The butterfly house was beautiful, and we were very lucky to see two butterflies emerging from chrysalis. Master pink particularly enjoyed the cocoons and seeing them all quivering slightly. Miss Pink loved the butterflies.

We went to the Otter sanctury next. Master Pink has now declared that his most favourite animal in the world is indeed an otter. They were exceptionally cute, and we were able to see them being fed. Miss Pink spent the rest of the day telling us all about the cute "Odders" and telling us "I'm so happy". :)
