Old Bedford Village
On the outskirts of town, this is a collection of old authentic houses that form a village. Some of the houses were deconstructed, then transported to the location and rebuilt.
There is a school, a blacksmith, a weaver, a potter, a candlemaker, a jail etc.
They all contain craftspeople in period costume who demonstrate the old methods.
I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would, a school outing had just left and we more or less had the place to ourselves so we spent a lot of time chatting away to the 'villagers'.
In the evening we went for a long walk and saw a lot of interesting local wildlife (including snakes). Our last night at Bedford Springs, it's been a great stay.
