Puig de Saint Maria

On top of this hill (or 'puig') you may be able to spot some buildings - the monastery of St. Maria. We can see the the Puig de St. Maria from our town house and during our last visit to Mallorca we walked up the hill to visit the monastery. It has an interesting history and the views across the fertile plains to the mountains and the sea are spectacular.

Today rather than hill walking we opted for beach walking at Alcudia Bay. The beach was really busy - a bit of a surprise as we had thought it would be quieter this late in the season. It was warm and sunny - 26 degrees so Andy swam in the sea and I paddled (as I hadn't taken my swimming wear). This evening we have cooked a risotto for dinner. We sat outside in our courtyard to eat. All was peaceful apart from the church bell calling people to an evening service.
