Beside the Sea

Many thanks for all your comments on my blips - it is lovely to hear from you despite my lack of commenting.

Today we expected rain so opted for a visit to Puerto Pollenca, the nearby town on the coast. It has an attractive seafront which is lined with some old colonial style properties and pine trees as well as more modern villas.

The weather turned out to be sunny and warm so we had a long walk up and down the sea front and sat with our feet dangling in the sparkling sea. We also discovered a local nature reserve which is home to many different species of birds. We saw quite a number of birds we didn't recognise but think we saw a Siberian warbler - these are common on Mallorca but we don't usually get them in the UK.

We finished our walk with a drink at one of the trendy beachside hotels before returning to our house for a late lunch and to read our books. This evening Andy cooked a tasty vegetable curry for dinner.

Best wishes to you all.
