Small World- back blip
We left Manchester, NH and headed to Maine, stopping to visit a few more covered bridges. I chose this photo of the Jackson Covered Bridge in Conway, not because of its quality, but because of our story here. A gentleman, his daughter and granddaughter were admiring the bridge when we got there. He started telling me about the bridge and we exchanged info about our hometowns. He now lives not far from the bridge. It turns out that he lived in Maryland for many years and went fishing on charter boats not far from my home. So far on this trip, he is the second person we've met who has been to our county in Maryland. After exhausting our list of bridges, we stopped near the base of Mount Washington to take a photo of the area where the auto road to the top begins. That trip is definitely not on my bucket list. We finished our tour of NH by driving through the Shelburne Birches, a grove of large trees planted in memory of those lost in WWII.
