Gran Reserva

This morning we awoke to the sound of heavy rain. We passed the morning shopping in Pollenca for fresh meat and vegetables. We have found an excellent butcher and it is clearly popular as many locals were in there buying all sorts of interesting cuts of meat.

We returned to the house for morning coffee before popping down the street to the museum dedicated to the local artist Dionis Bennassair. A humble man, he enjoyed painting local street and coastal scenes. The museum is housed in his home - a beautiful building still containing he artists tools and various other personal possessions. His wife was a pianist and so classical piano pieces were playing as we viewed the paintings. Like many Spanish houses the museum contained a beautiful little courtyard filled with lush plants.

This afternoon we walked along the long sandy bay at Alcudia. We are now cooking dinner and celebrating our time together with a bottle of cava kindly left to us by the owner of the property.

I hope this finds you all well and having had a good day.
