Favourite Beech
It was back through St Ives Estate to Bingley this morning to stock up on buttons for twiddlemuffs and, thankfully, today Kay's Crafts was open. Kay's is an Aladdin's Cave of a place which you have to squeeze in to around bags of wool and stands of beads and buttons and bows. If a second customer arrives, it's like those computer games (or the old-fashioned plastic one!) where one of you has to manoeuvre in to the space between the wool whilst the second approaches the counter, then you have to reverse......If you turn around too quickly with a rucksack on your back you are likely to take out packets of needles and towers of felt squares and tubes of buttons! Kay is a skilled crafter and she always knows what she has in stock and exactly where it is, which is the reason why her shop is so popular.
Replete with bright buttons of all shapes and sizes I set off back up the hill through Myrtle Park and in to St Ives, stopping only to take this blip of my favourite beech tree before beating the rain home.
