Wolfe Tones in Baltinglass

It was an odd sight to see The Wolfe Tones playing in a graveyard but that was one of the locations picked for their DVD for their album 'Child of Destiny'. I was there to take photos and interview them for the 'Baltinglass Jotter'.

One of the songs is about an Irish man John Thomond O'Brien who was a general and very involved in the wars for independence in the Americas. He was also from Baltinglass, and the reason for their visit. They would also be taking in other locations on the day. And what a day they picked! The sun was beating down and one of the band members had some of his grandchildren there and his daughter and son-in-law who live in Balto.

I took the opportunity later to cut the grass and clean out the gutters. Multitasking today!
