Nuremberg

Our first trip to another city today, we went to Nuremberg (or Nürnberg in German) - like Regensburg, a beautiful city with plenty to see.

After nearly missing the train thanks to some kind of student rally (complete with armed police), we got into Nuremberg in time to see a couple sights before having a small picnic for lunch, not far from the river. There were ornate churches and fountains aplenty, and I got some ice cream whilst Charlotte found a big bag of Lebkuchen (German gingerbread) to enjoy.

The gardens of the Imperial Castle were really nice out in the sun, and we got a great view of the city before heading back down into it, cooling off with some refreshing Radlers.
