Bens Kayak

Local businessman Ben Edom has had a busy year. He organised a new and exciting event for the area when he brought sea kayak racing to Fishguard and the event is already booked to return next year. 
As well as organising such a prodigious event he has spent his spare time building his own racing kayak. He has been working on this beautiful craft for around a year and today was its official launching ceremony. He had no idea how stable or manoeuvrable it would be and even inside Lower Town harbour the water was choppy. He was overjoyed with the performance and I was amazed at the speed he could achieve on what to me looked like a very narrow plank of wood.
