Morgenlicht
A wonderful early walk round Holme Fen, frosty underfoot, but dragonflies in the air. Hundreds of them in the sunny spots (see extra), jostling for space on the silvery birch trunks and copper bracken fronds, seeking any vertical surface to soak up the morning rays. I even saw one pair mating - truly late flowering love!
I was at a conference all day yesterday, so no time to take any photographs. As I drove home the sunset was beautiful but there was nowhere to pull off the road. After dinner we went to a high vantage point and watched a whole series of firework displays, including the Peterbrorough Firework Fiesta. Too far away for photographs, but still worth seeing.
